JOB DESCRIPTION

What You Will Do:


The QA and Regulatory Specialist position is a part of the team responsible for developing and maintaining documents for regulatory and quality assurance purposes. In addition to document development an maintenance, the Specialist will perform scientific literature searches as needed and participate in special projects to provide regulatory and quality assurance support to the company's sales and technical teams. The Specialist should be a self-starter with the ability to also work as a team. This person should demonstrate good time management skills, attention to details, and organizational skills. The Specialist should have excellent analytical, oral and written communication skills, as well as diplomacy skills. 


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:


  • Assist in preparing documents, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) related to food safety certification programs e.g. Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI).
  • Perform and summarize scientific literature searches in report format to assist in filings for regulatory approvals.
  • Participate in scientific laboratory studies required for regulatory filings.
  • Interface with vendors to prepare technical documents such as Safety Data Sheets (SDSs), Labels, and Technical Data Sheets (TDS).
  • Gather and assist in preparing customer compliance documentation such as Letters of Guarantee.
  • Participate in project teams related to regulatory and quality assurance activities.
  • Organizing and updating regulatory and quality assurance documents on various platforms as needed.
  • Inspect and verify SQF logs for non-conformities and completeness.
  • Monitor and track GMP training logs.
  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.


Your Must Haves:


  • Bachelor's degree in related field.
  • 1-2 years' related experience.

  • General Chemistry knowledge a plus.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Attention to detail and a keen sense of observation.
  • Must be highly motivated, self-starter with the ability to work alone, and as a functioning member of a team.
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Office.


Our Environment:


This position is combination-based in our manufacturing plant environment & office setting. Expected exposure to wet, hot, cold, various shifts, requiring Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).Constant (role requires this activity more than 66% of the time (5.5+ hrs/day)

Use of fingers and hands. Lift/Carry 10 lbs or less & push/pull 12 lbs or less.Frequently (role requires this activity from 33% - 66% of the time (2.5 - 5.5+ hrs/day)

Stand, climb stairs, walk, sit, reach outward, squat/kneel, bend. Lift/Carry 11-50 lbs & push/pull 13-40 lbs.Occasional (role requires this activity up to 33% of the time (0 - 2.5+ hrs/day)

Climb & crawl. Lift/Carry 51+ lbs & push/pull 41-100 lbs.
