What You Will Do:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Adhere to all safety policies and guidelines; is accountable for their personal safety and the safety of their co-workers.
- Follow written and verbal procedures and instructions to perform job duties safely and efficiently.
- Complete initial and routine safety, job task, and compliance training.
- Be knowledgeable of procedures/policies and adhere to them while performing work assignments.
- Execute emergency procedures in response to chemical incidents, inclement weather, or other situations that threaten the safety of team members and the plant site.
- Perform shipping, receiving, loading, unloading, and inventory management activities associated with chemical operations that includes driving forklifts to load and unload filled and empty chemical packages (totes, drums, bags, etc.).
- Prepare finished products for shipment with proper labels and batch documentation.
- Ensure products being shipped have no contamination (dirt, product residue, rust, etc.) on the outside of the containers, labels are properly applied and not damaged, and containers are not damaged.
- Ensure drivers picking up loads properly secure their loads to prevent shifting and damage during transport.
- Verify driver has proper DOT placards on his trailer for the materials being transported.
- Accurately record shipping and receiving information in electronic devices and on paper documents.
- Cohesively work with team members across multiple departments.
- Perform daily inspections and report maintenance work needed on equipment used routinely (forklifts, stretch wrappers, drum banding, yard dogs, isotainers, tankers, railcar and truck unloading stations, bulk product loading stations).
- Maintain a clean and organized workplace.
- Perform duties required to comply with SQF and housekeeping standards.
- Safely utilize and operate equipment to produce and package products including the following: PPE
- Forklifts
- Weigh scales
- Barcode scanning devices
- HMIs and PLCs
- Desktop/Laptop computers
- Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
Your Must Haves:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree ('GED')
- 1 years of experience with forklift operation.
- Experience with first-in, first out (FIFO) shipping/manufacturing procedures.
- Experience verifying warehouse paperwork (shipping labels, lot numbers, certificates of analysis (COAs), etc.).
- Ability to understand documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Knowledge of basic math- addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Utilize common sense in order to carry out written, oral or diagrammed instructions.
- Strong communication skills (oral and written).
What We Prefer You Have:
- Experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly chemical manufacturing.
- Job experience that requires adherence to written procedures, use of PPE, and knowledge of Lockout Tagout (LOTO) and Safe Work processes.
Our Environment:
This position is based in our manufacturing plant environment. Expected exposure to wet, hot, cold, various shifts, requiring Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Constant (role requires this activity more than 66% of the time (5.5+ hrs/day)
Use of fingers and hands. Lift/Carry 10 lbs or less & push/pull 12 lbs or less.
Frequently (role requires this activity from 33% - 66% of the time (2.5 - 5.5+ hrs/day)
Stand, climb stairs, walk, sit, reach outward, squat/kneel, bend. Lift/Carry 11-50 lbs & push/pull 13-40 lbs.
Occasional (role requires this activity up to 33% of the time (0 - 2.5+ hrs/day)
Climb & crawl. Lift/Carry 51+ lbs & push/pull 41-100 lbs.
