What You Will Do:
The Lead Person provides directions for the sanitation crew within a certain area of the plant. This position is trained in multiple jobs, can assist the training team members, and provide support as requested by the supervisor in that area.
Job duties include:
- Work cooperatively with management, team members, customers, and regulatory agencies to ensure sanitation procedures are followed.
- Maintain open communications with all team members in the plant. Meet with the Supervisor on a regular basis to ensure all issues are being properly handled and addressed, including missing or damaged parts and equipment.
- Clean and sanitize equipment and workspace in a designated area of the plant.
- Ensure team members in assigned area are completing job tasks to QA and USDA standards. Inspect equipment to ensure all areas are clean for pre-op inspections.
- Handle chemicals to ensure usage is within specified limits.
- Monitor and provide personal protective equipment ('PPE').
- Other duties as assigned.
Your Must Haves:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Leadership and decision making skills are required.
- 6 or more months of experience in sanitation and/or food processing industry.
- Ability to take direction and instruction from manager and be accountable for own actions.
- Safety awareness and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in extreme temperature fluctuations.
Our Environment:
This position would involve you to be in a wet, hot, and or cold environment, while wearing Personal Protective Equipment ('PPE'). Shift may vary depending on location.
